Allow Me To Introduce Myself.

For years I’ve wanted to create something in the vein of the things that I loved growing up. The first magazine I picked up was The Source in 2005. I flipped through the pages, learning about the artists I loved and what made them special. I read XXL faithfully. Elliot Wilson was my hero and I loved reading his editor notes at the top of the issue. He talked trash like a battle rapper, something I didn’t know writers could do. He was good, so why not? Vibe made me appreciate the culture with a more diverse pallet. Fashion, movies, television, politics. Mimi Valdes & Danyel Smith were the women in charge and I paid attention.

Time passed, the magazines I loved switched things up, and then came digital.

I absorbed blogs and sites like Herfection, Complex, Rap Radar, and Concrete Loop. They had their hand on a specific pulse of the culture. It wasn’t obscure, it wasn’t mainstream, but it fit.

I’ve dreamed of having a platform to discuss the things I love, but I was scared to really share it.

In the age of social media, you feel like you have to fit in a box. The same content is recycled everyday on Twitter, Instagram, and various podcasts. Being “on trend” is the name of the game, especially in writing and content creating. I’ve tried, but I can’t follow that formula.

I’m a lover of all things Black, proud, hip-hop, creative, cinematic, and innovative and this platform will reflect that. In my own voice, every time.

Someone taught me at an early age that words create worlds.

I want to invite you into my world.

Welcome to the Terrordome, Let me bless you with some culture.
